NFL’s Biggest Games Coming Up
Dolphins @ Patriots 1/1
Jets @ Seahawks 1/1
Panthers @ Bucs 1/1
Bills @ Bengals 1/2
Ravens @ Bengals 1/8
Titans @ Jaguars 1/8
With only a few weeks left in the NFL regular season there will be some key matchups that could decide division titles or other playoff spots. Here are some of the big ones to look out for as 2022 comes to a close.
Looking ahead to the New Year, January 1st will have many crucial games. The Dolphins visit Foxboro to take on the Patriots. Miami currently sits in seventh place, while New England is just a spot behind them. Should the Pats win this game it could send them above Miami and into the playoffs as a Wild Card team. Also look out for Jets at Seahawks on the same day. Both teams are just outside the Wild Card spots but remain squarely in the hunt. This has all the makings of a game where the loser is out, and the winner can take one of the last playoff spots.
With the NFC South being as…underwhelming as it has been, it means each game is important because it could decide the NFC South division winner. A great example is when the Panthers visit Tampa Bay. Both teams have bad records and are way under .500, but should Panthers pull the upset then they would have the same record. That division is still there for the taking, with a four-seed and a home playoff game on the line.
Don’t forget about Week 18, the last week of the regular season. January 8th is when divisions and playoff spots will be clinched. The two best teams in the AFC North square off in Cincinnati where the Ravens will look to grab the division title. The Ravens are already in a Wild Card spot, but if they can go get a crucial road win against a division rival then they would vault up into the top four where they would host a home playoff game. That January 8th matchup could be the division decider.
And speaking of division deciders, the Jaguars host the Titans in what could decide the AFC South winner and the fourth seed in the AFC playoffs. Tennessee has been on a losing skid recently, and with recent news that quarterback Ryan Tannehill will miss the last three games it just means they are vulnerable. The Jags have life after some recent wins and this Week 18 game will be a must watch.
